About Vlado Georgiev

Vladimir "Vlado" Georgiev is a Serbian pop singer, songwriter and producer, born on 6 June 1976 in Dubrovnik to Dragoljub, a Serbian Bulgarian from Dimitrovgrad, and Borka, a Bosnian Serb from Sarajevo. Soon after his birth the family moved to Herceg Novi in Montenegro, where he grew up and went to school until, at sixteen, he and his older brother Saša moved to Belgrade. He started on the accordion, then moved to the piano, synthesizers and other keyboards, and began writing songs in secondary school.

His first steps were at the Sunčane skale festival in Herceg Novi, where he sang "Draga", a duet with Rođa Raičević, in 1997 and won in 1998 with "Ako ikad ostarim". He produced the Montenegrin hip hop band Monteniggers and recorded "Ne brže od života" (2000) and "Tropski bar" (2001) with its member Niggor, singing the latter at the festival in Zrenjanin.

His debut album Navika (Goraton, 2001) included "Reci mi da znam" and "Lažljiva", and the second, Žena bez imena (2003), brought his best-known hit, "Anđele". After the hit single "Nisam ljubomoran" (2005) and a two-year break he returned with "Do svitanja" and the ballad "Ti i ja", and in 2009 "Hej ti" became a big success, together with the ballad "Bez tebe". He sang "Stine" (2010) and "Ključ života" (2011) at the Runjićeve večeri in Split, and his third album, Daljina, came out on his own label Barba Music in 2013, followed by the singles "Iskreno" (2014), "Tebe žedan" and "Znam te najbolje". He also writes songs for other singers in the former Yugoslavia and runs the VG Art studio and Studio Barba in Belgrade.

Vlado Georgiev was a judge on Prvi glas Srbije in 2011 and 2012 and on Tvoje lice zvuči poznato in 2016. He has had small roles in the series Ono kao ljubav and Pevaj, brate! and in the film Vojna akademija 2, and voiced a character in the Serbian version of Finding Dory. Away from music he is a keen biker who has travelled around Europe on his Harley-Davidson, and he has been to the Himalayas. With his partner, the model Milica Samardžija, he has two daughters.
