About Jole
Jole is a Croatian pop singer, born Joško Čagalj on 15 February 1972 in Heilbronn, West Germany. He spent his childhood in Zagvozd, his father's birthplace in the Dalmatian hinterland, and later moved to Split, where he finished secondary school and still lives. He started music school at the age of five.
From 1988 he sang in Split clubs, at times as a backing vocalist for Tedi Spalato, Vinko Coce and Dražen Zečić. His career turned when he began working with songwriter Tonči Huljić, and in 1998 he appeared at the Melodije hrvatskog Jadrana festival with Huljić's song "Duša od papira". Vjekoslava and Tonči Huljić have written many of his songs since, and Jole calls them his musical parents. His records have come out on Hit Records and Tonika.
His first album, Jednina i množina, came out in 1999, followed by Sve su žene lijepe (2001), Otključano! (2004), Retrorama (2005), Odijelo (2009), Remek djelo (2014) and Pijanica nisam (2015), with the compilation Zlatna kolekcija in 2007. "Nosi mi se bijela boja", a song for Hajduk Split, became a cheer at football matches. Hits about women such as "Kada žene tulumare" and "Maksimalno" were followed in 2020 by "San snova", and in 2022 by the ballad "Dom bez adrese", which he called a turning point. In September 2025 he released "Od malih nogu", with his son and daughter in the video. He has also guested on Jelena Rozga's tour. Other songs fans know him for include "Nina", "Bijeli bagrem", "Pao sam na tvoju ljepotu" and "Ja ti mogu biti tata".
Jole married his wife Ana in 2006, and they have three daughters and a son.
