About Vlatka Pokos

Vlatka Pokos is a Croatian singer and television host, born on 22 March 1970 in Salzburg, Austria. She grew up in Sokolovac, near Koprivnica, and moved to Zagreb after finishing high school; Zagreb is still her home, and her Croatian upbringing and career are why she is on Muzika-Balkan under Croatia. At 14 she decided to change her surname: born Vuković, she took Pokos, the maiden name of her mother, who comes from Zagorje; her father was from the hinterland of Split. Her first success was a win at the Prvi glas Koprivnice festival.

In 1989 she began her professional career as a member of the popular group Srebrna Krila, with whom she spent the next five years playing halls across Croatia and touring the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. With the band she recorded the albums Zašto nisam miljenica sudbine (1991) and Ljubi me noćas (1994), and sang at the Zadar festival ("Vino ljubavi" in 1993, "Do viđenja" in 1994) and the Split festival ("Ljubi me noćas" in 1993, "Ako se ikada sjetiš" in 1994). The group's biggest hit of that time was "Na modrom nebu iznad Zagreba".

She went solo in 1994. The maxi single "Petak" came out in 1995, followed by the albums Vlatka (1998) and Na dohvat ruke (2005), and her early hits include "Metak", "Ne tražim ništa" and "Potroši sve". She sang at the Croatian Radio Festival almost every year from 1998 to 2009, from "Ja te ljubim" to "Dlanom o dlan", entered Dora in 2006 with "Najbolje" and the CMC festival in 2010 with "Kako god bilo".

At the same time Vlatka Pokos built a career in front of the camera. She hosted on OTV, Mreža, HRT and Nova TV; on HRT she was a regular host of the entertainment shows Sedma noć, Pretežno vedro and Zlatni gong, as well as the live summer tour Ljetni gong, and in 1999 and 2000 she co-hosted Dora, the Croatian Eurovision selection. In 2007 she played Sofija Frajt in the comedy series Zauvijek susjedi.

Her private life has kept her in the media: her marriage to Josip Radeljak ended publicly in 2007, and in 2010 she published the book Život u raju. In 2022 she danced in the second season of Nova TV's Ples sa zvijezdama, and in 2026 she was a guest on HRT's Ponovno zajedno in an episode about Sedma noć.
