About Ana Nikolić

Ana Nikolić is a Serbian pop singer and television personality, born on 27 September 1978 in Svetozarevo, today's Jagodina, and raised in Paraćin. Her music runs from pop and pop-folk to electropop. After her father died in 1998 she began to perform professionally, and that year she made her first television appearance, singing "Kolačići" by Marina Perazić. During the 1999 NATO bombing she spent nine months in Greece, where, by her own account, Sakis Rouvas encouraged her to pursue music.

She came to wider notice at Beovizija 2003, the Serbian selection for Eurovision, where "Januar" finished seventh and won the award for best debut performance. Her debut album "Januar" followed in August 2003 on City Records, under the name Nika, written mostly by composer Aleksandar Milić Mili and lyricist Marina Tucaković. It gave her the hits "Hoću da te gledam", "Vatra" and "Moj klub".

In 2006 she returned to Beovizija with "Romale romali", which finished second and became her signature song. Her second album, "Devojka od čokolade", came out in December 2006 and took her on her first regional tour. The 2008 compilation "Platinum Collection" added two new songs, "Šizofrenija", a duet with Aca Lukas, and "Ekstaza", released as a single in 2009. That year she reached the Beovizija final again but withdrew and sued Radio Television of Serbia, which in 2014 was ordered to pay her 20,000 euros.

Ana Nikolić's third album, "Mafia caffé" (2010), was a big success with songs such as "Zla barbika" and "Džukelo". "Milion dolara" (2013) had a title track featuring Nikolija, and "Labilna" (2016), produced by Rasta and Coby, brought a more urban sound. In 2016 and 2017 she was a judge on the fifth season of "Ja imam talenat!".

She married the rapper Stefan Đurić Rasta in July 2016, and their daughter Tara was born in August 2017. After a break she came back in 2020 with "Bilo je lepo" and a run of singles, and in 2024 she released the EP "Hvala, doviđenja".
