About Lina Marković
Lina Marković is a pop-folk singer of the 1990s, known to audiences as Lina Bumbar after her biggest hit. In the press she also appears as Lina Božović and Lina Božović Marković.
Her father backed her musical ambitions from an early age, and she recorded her first single at about thirteen. Her first CD, made at fourteen, went largely unnoticed, but the next one, with the title song "Bez reklamacije", also carried "Bumbar". The song was a hit in 1996 and made her a star while she was still in her mid-teens. She remembers the 1990s as years of touring and studio work, and of friendships with older colleagues such as Džej.
About two years after "Bumbar" Lina Marković stepped away from the stage. Her father died when she was sixteen, after her second CD had come out, and she has since spoken about his suicide; her mother encouraged her to take time off. She married young, had her first daughter at twenty and put her family first; her husband has since died. In a 2022 interview with Kurir she said she still owed her audience something and was working on a new project with the singer Braga and Kosta Janković, delayed by the pandemic. Nova.rs later reported that she organises passenger transport, does not rule out a return, and sometimes appears at concerts with colleagues from the 1990s.
