About Sebastian Popović
Sebastian Popović is a Croatian singer and songwriter from Zagreb, the son of the singer Danijel Popović and of Sanja Bjedov Popović, a businesswoman and former model. At Zagrebfest 2008 he sang "A lipe, jablani, breze", with music by his father, lyrics by Željko Pavičić and an arrangement by Hrvoje Hegedušić, and the song came out on the festival CD Zagrebfest '08 on the Cantus label.
In 2020 he released a song called "Etanol". He told a Croatian TV interview, as Slovenia's 24ur reported that September, that his lyrics were too "hard-core" for his father, who prefers romantic ones, and that he held it against him that he did not want to record a song with him. His father told Novi list that November that Sebastian's music is very different from his own, that "it is not easy to follow in your father's footsteps", and that his son goes his own way.
In February 2021 he presented "Normalno", a song about happy love. He said he had started learning the piano, having written all his songs on the guitar until then; at first he had only wanted to sing, then found he liked making a whole song himself, though his first lyric took him a month. That July he told In Magazin he had bought his first flat and was renovating it himself, and had worked with a well-known Greek songwriter.
In August 2022 he was one of the contestants in the third season of the Nova TV show "Ženim sina". In November 2024 he married; he had met his wife, a flight attendant, in Berlin. His songs "Nema novčanica" and "Povezan" are in this playlist.
