Petar Grašo

Petar Grašo is a Croatian pop singer and songwriter, born on 19 March 1976 in Split, where he still lives. He is the son of Zoran Grašo, a former KK Split basketball player, and has made music since childhood.

He began as a songwriter. At sixteen he wrote "Boginja", which Oliver Dragojević sang at Dora 1995, finishing second, and he also wrote "Da si tu" for Doris Dragović. His own solo career began in 1996, when he won Zadarfest with "Trebam nekoga". His debut album, Mjesec iznad oblaka (1997), sold more than 110,000 copies, and that year he finished second at Dora with "Idi". In 1998 Danijela Martinović won Dora with his song "Neka mi ne svane", which came fifth at Eurovision, and he himself was second at Dora again in 1999 and third in 2001.

He won Melodije hrvatskog Jadrana in 1997 with "Ne boli me" and in 2000 with "Sve nas manje ima tu", and the Grand Prix of the Split festival in 2003 with "Vera od suvog zlata" and in 2015 with "Moje zlato". The albums Utorak (1999) and Šporke riči (2003) followed, the second with a duet with Arsen Dedić, "Sad te se samo rijetko sjetim". In 2011 he released Ka hashish with Tonči Huljić and Madre Badessa, and with them he also recorded "Amerika", "Anarkišta" (with Goran Bregović), "Providenca" and "Inamorana".

His concerts grew large: a sold-out Spaladium Arena in Split in late 2015, about 18,000 people at Zagreb Arena on 25 November 2017, around 40,000 on Zagreb's main square in 2019, and in 2022 two nights at Zagreb Arena and one at Belgrade's Štark Arena. In 2019 he won the Porin for best male vocal performance with "Ako te pitaju".

Petar Grašo has also sung duets with Severina ("Unaprijed gotovo") and Nina Badrić ("Nemoj", 2023). He is married to Hana Huljić, with whom he sang "Srce za vodiča", and they have two children.
