About Marina Perazić
Marina Perazić is a Croatian pop singer, born on 29 May 1958 in Rijeka. She began in the Rijeka choir Jeka Primorja and, while studying civil engineering, in the multimedia group Sigma Tau. In 1981 keyboardist Davor Tolja invited her into his one-off Toljina Funk Selekcija for the RI Rock festival, and her first studio recording was backing vocals on "Zimski vjetar", sung by Damir Pandur at Zagrebfest.
In 1982 Tolja and Perazić formed the synth-pop duo Denis i Denis. Their demos spread on radio in Rijeka, Zagreb and Belgrade, and they first played live on 30 December 1982, opening for Boa in Rijeka. The 1984 album Čuvaj se!, announced by the single "Program tvog kompjutera", was voted album of the year by the readers of the magazine Rock, and her sensual vocals made her a sex symbol of the Yugoslav scene. While Tolja was in the army, the mini-album Ja sam lažljiva (1985) brought "Voli me još ovu noć", "Ja sam lažljiva" and "Soba 23". In 1985 she also sang on the YU Rock Misija song "Za milion godina", and with Denis i Denis she placed third at the 1986 Yugoslav Eurovision selection with "Braća Grimm i Andersen".
In September 1986 she left the group. Her solo album Marina (Jugoton, 1987), produced by Mato Došen, with lyrics partly by Marina Tucaković and Alka Vuica, went gold and gave her "Kolačići", composed by Kiki Lesendrić of Piloti, and "U ritmu me okreni", composed by Zoran Aničić. At MESAM 1987 the audience gave her second prize for "Dignimo ruke do oblaka".
In 1988 she moved to New York with drummer Ivan Fece "Firči" of Ekatarina Velika, and for ten years she neither recorded nor performed; their daughters Mia and Luna were born in 1993 and 1995. After they parted in 1997 she came home, and in 1998 City Records released Ista kao more, named after the Indexi song "Budi kao more", which she covered; it includes "Školjka" and songs by Tolja, Lesendrić and Damir Urban. At Beovizija 2003 "Sex bez dodira" took sixth place and the award for best stage performance, and it came out as a single in 2004.
Marina Perazić later took part in both the Croatian and the Serbian version of the reality show Farma and, in the 2010s, began to perform as a DJ. From 2012, thirty years after their first concert, she and Tolja played Denis i Denis reunions, and in spring 2026 the two said goodbye with the farewell tour Posljednji program tvog kompjutera, from Ljubljana on 14 March to Zagreb on 10 April.
