About Tram 11
Tram 11 is a hip hop duo from Zagreb, made up of the rappers Target (Nenad Šimun) and General Woo (Srđan Ćuk). In the second half of the 1990s they were among the first successful rap acts in Croatia.
The duo was formed in 1996 and named after Zagreb's tram line 11, which links the western part of the city, Target's side, with the eastern part, where General Woo lived. Croatian hip hop had few known names at the time; Tram 11 came out of the circle of the Blackout Project, a radio show started on Radio 101 in 1993 to promote rap in Croatia.
Their debut album, Čovječe ne ljuti se, came out in 1999. Its song "Hrvatski velikani", about the historical figures printed on Croatian banknotes, was the first rap song to reach number one on Croatian charts, and "Kužiš spiku" was later included on the compilation The Best of International Hip-Hop. The album also features El Bahattee on "Pismo" and the Zagreb favourite "Kaj ima lima?". A second album, Vrućina gradskog asfalta, followed in 2000.
In 2003 they released the compilation Tajna crne kutije, on which they are joined by guests such as Prljavo Kazalište, Bolesna Braća, Elemental, Divas and Ivana Kindl. The same year the duo split up after a falling-out, and both went on to solo careers; General Woo also recorded with his group Nered. They met again briefly in 2009 on Target's song "Stavi ovo na roštilj" and in 2010 appeared in the documentary Hip Hop priča iz Hrvatske.
In early 2017 Target joined General Woo on stage in Zagreb for "Hrvatski velikani" and "Kaj ima lima", and on 1 April 2017 Tram 11 announced a comeback concert at Zagreb's Dom sportova for 11 November 2017. On 14 January 2022 they released their third studio album, Jedan i jedan, with 18 songs, later reissued on their own label, Pad sistema records, named after a song from their first album.
