About General Woo
General Woo is the stage name of Srđan Ćuk, a Croatian rapper born on 17 November 1977 in Vukovar. He started out in 1994, and in the late 1990s he was one half of Tram 11, one of the first successful rap acts in Croatia.
Tram 11 was founded in 1996 by Ćuk and Nenad Šimun, known as Target, and took its name from Zagreb's number 11 tram line. Their debut album, Čovječe ne ljuti se, came out in 1999 and Vrućina gradskog asfalta followed a year later. Songs such as "Hrvatski velikani" and "Kaj ima lima" became their best known, and in 2003 the best-of Tajna crne kutije closed the first chapter as the duo split. Before and beside Tram 11 he recorded the demos General Woo (1994) and Verbalator (1996) and two albums with the Blackout Project.
His solo debut, Takozvani, was released in 2002. Its guests included Ivana Husar on "S tobom ne znam", Target on "Pričam priču" and Tram 11 on "Fix". In 2005 he made Baš je lijep ovaj svijet together with the rapper Nered, with Nina Badrić singing on "Još uvijek gorim za ljubav" and the American rapper El da Sensei on "MC to the Fullest". The solo album Krv nije voda followed in 2006.
General Woo records for Aquarius Records. In 2011 he released his fourth album, Verbalni delikt, as a free download on MTV's website, and in 2014 the fifth, Pad sistema. In Vukovar, where he lives, he started an open-air hip-hop festival in 2007 and hosts the hip-hop radio station Blackout Radio Vukovar.
Tram 11 came back in 2017, when Target joined him on stage at a concert in Zagreb, and in January 2022 the duo released their third studio album, Jedan i jedan. The playlist here is Takozvani in full, from "Boli me" to "Pričam priču".
