About El Bahattee

El Bahattee, real name Stiv Kahlina, is a rapper from the Zagreb hip-hop scene. He first appeared in 1997 on Project Impossible, the album of the Blackout Project led by Zagreb DJs Frx and Phat Phillie, and went on to guest on the debut album of Tram 11 and on other Croatian hip-hop records.

By the time the compilation Blackout 00 came out in 1999 he was well known in rap circles. The demo "981", recorded with Tram 11, and "Dame i gospodo" from the compilation Hip Hop Generacija 2001 showed what was coming.

His first solo album, Svaki pas ima svoj dan, followed in 2001. It drew many good reviews and won him a Porin, and at the award show he surprised the audience by performing "Opasno frustriran" with a live band. The album includes "981", "Jedna ljubav", "Brutalna braća" with Nered and "Osjeti bol" with Target.

The second album, Amen, came out in 2002 and again was mostly praised, picked as the best Croatian album of the year in several polls. It was the first rap-meets-rock album on the Croatian scene, with a garage version of "Opasno frustriran", and the CD also carried multimedia content and a short documentary about its recording.

In 2003 El Bahattee withdrew from the music business and began working as a web designer. In 2009, after a visit to the Paris chocolate fair, he turned to chocolate and opened a small chocolate workshop, Malo&Slatko, in the Zagreb neighbourhood of Sopot. The playlist here is his album Amen.
