Ivana Kindl

Ivana Kindl, born in Požega on 18 January 1978, is a Croatian singer of R&B, soul and pop. She took singing lessons with Mirela Brnetić for six years and lives in Velika Gorica.

She arrived on the Croatian scene in 2002 with the R&B album Trenutak istine on Menart, and her first singles, "Od svih si bolji" and "Ja neću biti kao druge", went to the top of radio and television charts. Her second album, Moj svijet (2004), brought the ballad "Kao kazna božja" with Jacques Houdek and the hit "Superjaka". In 2005 she won the Zadarfest with "Klik", the lead single of her third album, and sang "Tvoja ljubav meni pripada" at Dora. That album, Osjećaj (2006), had a more organic, retro pop sound, with "Tko se na lude kladio" and "Dva leptira".

Television made her a household name. In 2008 she won the second season of the HRT show Zvijezde pjevaju with the actor Nikša Kušelj, and she won it again in 2012 with Goran Navojec and in 2024 with Igor Barberić. In 2008 she also staged the concert Gospel u Komediji, with Josipa Lisac among the guests, and its recording won her the 2010 Porin for the best album of spiritual music.

Her fourth studio album, Promjenjiva, came out on 29 April 2010 with the singles "Oči", "Nisi sam" and "Promjenjiva", and in 2011 "Utjeha" earned her the Porin for best female vocal performance. That year Croatian radio editors also named her the best female singer of 2010. Later singles include "Sve istine i laži" (2017), "Ima nade" and "Bond" (2021).

To mark twenty years of recording, Ivana Kindl presented the album Put ka sebi with Universal Music Hrvatska, and its song "Netko ko me čuva" won her a second Porin for best female vocal performance at the 30th Porin awards in 2023.
