About Bolesna braća

Bolesna braća ("The Sick Brothers") is a hip hop duo from Zagreb and one of the best-known acts of Croatian rap. It is made up of the rappers Baby Dooks, real name David Vurdelja, and Bizzo, real name Petar Radojčić. They started out as Sick Rhyme Sayazz and gradually dropped that name around 2000 in favour of Bolesna braća.

Like Tram 11, they made their debut on the 1997 compilation Blackout Project: Project Impossible, released under the patronage of the Blackout Rap Show on Zagreb's Radio 101, with "One-O-One", which got a video directed by Tomislav Fiket. Their first official song, "Blowin' Up Your Sector" with D'Knock, reached tenth place on the Hit Depo year-end chart for 1997. Their witty rhymes and skilful production soon made them regular guests on other records: Dino Dvornik brought them onto his album Enfant terrible for "Fjaka", they joined Tram 11 on "Malu na stranu" and the hit "Lagana tema (Znate kak' se furamo)", and Baby Dooks produced the album of Divas and sang on its song "Euforija". They also made the official Coca-Cola song "Zabi gol" for the Croatian national team at the 1998 World Cup in France.

Their debut album Lovci na šubare came out in early July 2000. The playful "Čiča miča" had already conquered the airwaves earlier that year, and "Lovačke priče" became a big summer hit; Goran Kulenović directed the videos for both. The album was produced by Koolade, Dash and Baby Dooks, with guests including Tram 11 and Nered, and the original CD and cassette came with a "hunter's dictionary" explaining the duo's invented words. It sold more than 2,000 copies in its first month. The duo opened for Das EFX, Jeru the Damaja and O.C. & Big L in Croatia, and together with Tram 11 for Public Enemy in Ljubljana.

For the title song of their second album, Radio Fanfara (2003), they were joined at Zagreb's Morris studio by the New York rapper Afu-Ra, Samy Deluxe from Germany and Busta Flex from Paris, so the song is rapped in three languages. The album, with "Looka & Borna", "Bijeli miš" and "Patriša", was nominated for the 2004 Porin for best urban club music album.

After seven years they returned, more serious but just as recognisable, with Veliki umovi 21. stoljeća, released on 25 May 2010, with guests such as Maya Azucena on "Dobro došli u grad", Dajana Lovrin on "Bombon" and Kristijan Beluhan on "Mali majmun čita". They have also recorded "Polikita" with Edo Maajka, and in January 2025 Bolesna braća released a new single, "Božićna".
