Vladana

Vladana Vučinić, known simply as Vladana, is a Montenegrin singer and songwriter, born on 18 July 1986 in Titograd, today's Podgorica. She represented Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with "Breathe".

Music ran in the family: her grandfather, Boris Nizamovski, headed the Association of Stage Artists of North Macedonia and managed the Macedonian ensemble Magnifico. She studied music theory and opera singing at music school and later graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Science in Montenegro.

In 2003 she made her television debut on a national karaoke show and released her first single, "Ostaćeš mi vječna ljubav", performing at the Budva Mediterranean festival. She competed at Montevizija in 2005 with "Samo moj nikad njen", and in 2006 sang "Željna" in a duet with Bojana Nenezić, reaching the final of Evropesma-Europjesma, where they placed 15th. Later that year she sang "Kapije od zlata" in the newcomers' section of Sunčane skale.

Her video for "Kao miris kokosa", directed by Nikola Vukčević, became the most played video in Montenegro at the time, and in 2007 the two worked together again on "Poljubac kao doručak". At the end of 2009 she released her first English-language single, "Bad Girls Need Love Too", followed in November 2010 by an animated video for "Sinner City". On 13 December 2010 she self-released her debut album, Sinner City, sung in English. She was also the first Montenegrin solo artist shown on MTV Adria.

Beyond music she founded the online fashion magazine Chiwelook (Čiviluk) and worked as a creative director at the broadcaster RTCG. In January 2022 RTCG chose her for Eurovision, and "Breathe" came out on 4 March 2022 with a video. In Turin she sang in the second semi-final on 12 May 2022 but did not reach the final; the song was later released in Finnish as "Jää" and in Italian as "Respira".

In 2024 Vladana hosted Montesong, and in 2025 she was Montenegro's head of delegation at Eurovision. Her newest song is "Prevarena".
