About Danijel Alibabić

Danijel Alibabić is a Montenegrin pop singer and songwriter, born on 8 May 1988 in Titograd, today's Podgorica. He first became known as the singer of No Name, the group that represented Serbia and Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with "Zauvijek moja".

He is the second child of the musician Rasim Alibabić and his wife Olivera, a tourist guide. He went to primary school in the Podgorica neighbourhood of Vrela Ribnička and to the "Vasa Pavić" music school, where he played the guitar and later, at secondary level, the piano. He first went on stage in 1996 at the Zlatna pahulja festival in Rožaje, won the award for best interpretation at the Naša radost festival in Podgorica in 2000, and came third in the TV show Intro Karaoke in 2003.

No Name was founded on 19 November 2003, with Danijel on vocals beside Marko Prentić, Branko Nedović, Dragoljub Purlija, Bojan Jovović and Marko Perić. In 2004 the group came second at Sunčane skale with "Za tebe i mene". In 2005 they won Europjesma with "Zauvijek moja" and finished seventh at Eurovision in Kyiv with 137 points, and the Montefon awards named them the discovery of the year. In 2006 they won the national final again with "Moja ljubavi", but the result was disputed between the Serbian and Montenegrin broadcasters and Serbia and Montenegro withdrew from that year's contest. The group also sang "Kad budemo zajedno" and "Postelja od leda" at the festival in Budva, was named group of the year at the Montefon awards in 2007, and split up in 2008.

Danijel then went solo. He was a contestant on the Serbian Big Brother in 2007, and his solo hits include "Ne plači mala", first heard at the Radio Festival, "Dovodiš do ludila" from Pjesma Mediterana 2009, "Supica", a 2009 duet with Ksenija Pajčin, "Bolji ja" (2009) and "Balavica" (2010).

He released the albums Danijel Alibabić (2011) and Dvije strane (2023). He sang "Grad" at the Grand festival in 2014, and at Beogradsko proleće he sang "Pitaj ga" in 2023 and "Slomi" in 2024, which won the award for the best composition. His newer videos include "Bez tebe", "U krivinama" and "Soba bez zavjesa".
