Zemlja gruva!

Zemlja gruva! ("Land of Groove") is a Serbian alternative band from Belgrade, formed in 2007 when musicians gathered spontaneously around the Gruvlend studio. It was conceived as an open platform for like-minded musicians, and its sound is a fusion in which black rhythm dominates: afro, neo-soul, raga, reggae, jazz, swing and the music of the 1960s.

Many musicians have passed through the band, three of them singers: Zoe Kida, EmSi Milovan and Ana Đurić, who later became famous as Konstrakta. The line-up has also included guitarist Nebojša Anđelković Šobaja, bassist Marko Vlajčić, drummer Arion Petrovski, keyboard player Dušan Šarić, a horn section and producer Miroslav Ničić Niče.

The band first reached a wider audience at Beovizija 2008 with "Čudesni svetovi", which made the final and finished eighth, and they returned to the selection in 2009 with "Svejedno mi je". The breakthrough came with "Najlepše želje" from their debut album WTF is Gruvlend! (2010), followed by "Nisam znala da sam ovo htela". In 2010 and 2011 they won an Oskar popularnosti in the New Sound category, Radio B92's Pop mašina hit of the year and the Popboks readers' album of the year. In 2011 they opened Amy Winehouse's last concert, in Belgrade, and they have played Exit, Nisomnija, Beer Fest and other festivals.

In 2013 they released three covers of Dino Dvornik, with the support of Danijela Dvornik, as Dino u Zemlji gruva: "Afrika", "Zašto praviš slona od sebe?" and "Jače manijače", the last with Gidra. Their third album, Šta stvarno želiš?, came out in 2016 with "Đango" and "Vucibatina", and a greatest hits collection followed in 2018, along with singles such as "Mama", "Plodni dani", "Krugovi" and "Tuga".

Konstrakta started her solo career in 2019 and finished fifth for Serbia at Eurovision 2022, and the band stayed with her: in July 2022 Konstrakta and Zemlja gruva! became the first local headliners on Exit's main stage, and on 19 September 2024 they played together at the renovated Sava Centar.
