About Elvir Mekić
Elvir Mekić is a Macedonian pop and R&B singer and songwriter, born on 15 October 1981. His career began when he was a teenager, and his first song, "Se šeknuvam", became very popular in Macedonia. After several successful singles he stepped back from his own records for a while to write lyrics for other popular Macedonian artists.
He returned in 2007 with "Neka te zaboravi" and became widely known that year when he sang "Opasno" with Maja Sazdanovska at Ohrid Fest. The duet gave its name to his debut album Opasno, which also brought the singles "Ušte te ima" and "Nekade posle dva". In 2008 he competed at Skopje Fest, the Macedonian Eurovision selection, with "Armija", which he wrote with Jovan Jovanov. With Jovanov, his close friend, he then planned a concert in Skopje for 10 April 2008; the tickets sold so well that a second night was added.
Elvir Mekić also co-wrote, with Jovanov and Damjan Lazarov, "Nešto što kje ostane", the song Next Time sang for Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. His duets reached audiences across the region: "Pet minuta" with the Serbian singer Slađa Delibašić in 2008, "Slaba točka" with Jovanov, "Taj ti ne liči" with Đus, and in 2010 "Što je od Boga dobro je" with Selma Bajrami on her album Zakon sudbine.
His second album, Kako nov, followed in 2009 and a third, Neodoliva, in 2012. He has also recorded with Goce Arnaudov ("Lično tvoj") and Toni Zen ("Ič ne me boli").
