About Amel Ćeman Ćemo

Amel Ćeman, known simply as Ćemo, is a Montenegrin pop-folk singer. He was born on 20 April 1979 in Berane, in the north of Montenegro, where he grew up.

Music was not his first path. In Berane he finished the secondary medical school and worked for a time as a medical technician in the local hospital, and he later enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Priština, which he left to devote himself to singing. He has told Nova that he began singing in a kafana at seventeen, after a friend invited him along, and that a musician called Kosta asked him to play his first gig.

He then moved to Belgrade, where he soon became the "king of the river clubs" (kralj splavova) and one of the most sought-after club singers in the city. A wider audience got to know him through the reality shows Dvor and Farma on RTV Pink.

Of his early singles, "I opet mislim na tebe" and "Ona zna" (both 2011) and "Ljubavi" (2012) went down best with listeners, and they were collected on his studio album No. 1, released by City Records in 2013. The album also holds "Dajte mi jednu bar", "Volela si" and the duet "Više od života" with Milena Ćeranić.

In 2015 he took part in Pink's music festival with "Veži se polećemo", which became a radio hit. Later singles include "Kraljica noći" (2016), a duet with Georg Smiljić, "Da hapse me" and "Bikini" (2017), "Široko" (2018) and "Nije kraj" (2019), sung with Indira Radić.
