About Dara Bubamara
Dara Bubamara is a Serbian pop-folk singer, born Radojka Adžić on 21 May 1976 in Novi Sad. Her parents had moved to the city from Osinja near Derventa, and she grew up in the Satelit neighbourhood. She sang in the school choir and from the age of eleven appeared in talent shows such as "Pokaži šta znaš". Lepa Lukić and Zorica Brunclik noticed her, and at twelve she won first place at the Zmaj Children's Games in Novi Sad, representing Vojvodina.
In 1989 she joined the Dara Bubamara Show Band, whose name she still carries. The band's 1993 album Košava sa Dunava made her known across the country with the title song, "Mesečina" and "Kao led, kao žar", and that year she sang "Seksi ritam" with Džej Ramadanovski on RTS. After "Dosada" she went solo, and on ZaM she released Ja neću da ga vidim (1996), Dunav (1997), with "Svi su tu kao nekada", still counted among her biggest hits, and Nisu to kiše (1999).
Polje jagoda (2003) on Grand Production revived her career with "Polje jagoda", "Javite mi, javite" and "Vero, nevero", and she joined Viki Miljković, Stoja and Seka Aleksić on the compilation Četiri dame. After Bez milosti (2005) came Dodirni me (2007), her most successful album at about 300,000 copies, with "Dodirni me", "Zidovi", "Pali mali" and "Dobro jutro nikome". She also sang "Ništa od inata" with Hari Mata Hari.
After a dispute with Grand she moved to the smaller KCN label, where Sangrija (2010) followed the summer hit of that name. "Galama" (2011) and "Noć za nas", a duet with Cvija, became hits across the Balkans, and on City Records she released Dara 2013 and Biografija (2017). In 2014 the singles "Opasan", "Kraj i tačka" and the autobiographical "Karera" took off on YouTube, and in 2015 she won the audience award at the Pink Music Festival with "Žena zmaj". She finished eighth on "Tvoje lice zvuči poznato" in 2016 and was a judge on "Pinkove Zvezde".
Her single "Amnezija", produced by Jala Brat and Buba Corelli, led up to her first solo concert at the Belgrade Arena on 21 April 2018, where Jelena Karleuša joined her for "Galama" after their long public feud. In 2025 Dara Bubamara released the album 2025 and became a judge on "Zvezde Granda". She has a son, Konstantin, born in 2009.
