About Emir Habibović
Emir Habibović is a folk singer (narodna muzika) from Montenegro, born on 8 April 1985 in Bar. He grew up in Montenegro in a musical family and records for Grand Production in Belgrade, and he has said that the singing of Šaban Šaulić and Mića Nikolić shaped him more than anything else.
As a boy he wanted to become a professional footballer, but in his youth he chose singing instead. His career began in 2000, and his first hit, "Dajte mi jednu bar", also gave its name to his first album in 2003. On his 2008 album he sang "Sukob generacija" together with Šaban Šaulić, the first of many appearances with the older singer.
His big breakthrough came in 2014 with "Nisam ja onaj čovek od pre", the title song of that year's album, which also carried "Volja Božija", "Navika" and "Ne krivi me". In 2016 "Prevara" became another big success. In 2018 came the album Oživela me ljubav, with videos for "Ne otpisuj me", "Sad je kasno" and "Žena majka kraljica", and the title song followed as a video in 2019.
In 2023 he released "Suze moje majke", and in 2024 a whole album of new videos, Večna ljubav, with "Duša bogata", "Venčanica", "Crna dama", "Zbog nje", "Malena" and "Ti za srce otrovna si". In 2025 he sang "Sreća je rođena" with Tamara Selimović. His 2026 song "Pomozi mi", for which he wrote both the words and the music, took second place at the Sabor narodne muzike festival.
In February 2026 he sang at "Verujem u ljubav", a charity concert in memory of Šaban Šaulić, and that summer he recorded new versions of Šaulić's "Najlepša ženo vremena svih" and Mića Nikolić's "Ti, gde si ti", made, in his words, with great respect for the originals. A new studio album and a big solo concert were announced for the end of 2026.
