About Sejo Kalač
Sead "Sejo" Kalač is a Montenegrin pop-folk singer, born in Rožaje on 5 October 1964. He has been singing professionally for more than thirty years.
He first appeared on the music scene with the band Paukova mreža, in which he played the accordion. The band played all over what was then Yugoslavia, in restaurants, hotels and discothèques. After leaving it he started a solo career and moved to Belgrade, where he finished the lower music school, began studying at the Higher Pedagogical School and recorded his first solo album for PGP RTB, released in 1991. Soon afterwards he went abroad, and his next albums included Poletimo, poletimo and Alipašin izvor.
His return to the former Yugoslav countries came with the song "Bišćanka", with which he won the festival in Bihać in 1998. Further albums followed: Dva života, Baš ti (2002), Voda, vazduh i sloboda (2003), Ala, ala (2004) and Dođe to iz duše (2009). Of all his hits, the best known is "Ala, ala".
Sejo Kalač has had success with duets too. "Lažu te", recorded with Šemsa Suljaković for her album of 2000, also appeared on his own album Voda, vazduh i sloboda, and in 2003 he remade his song "Tika tak" with Stoja; both duets were big hits. He also sang "Sunce sjalo" with the singer Jana on her album Malo magije (2005).
He kept returning to the Bihać festival, singing "Bišćanka" again in 2009, "Žena mog života" in 2011 and "U srcu mi Krajina" in 2017. He also inspired one of the main characters in Nenad Mitić's animated film Jet Set (2007). His brother, Caki Kalač, is also a singer.
