About Rasta

Rasta is the stage name of Stefan Đurić, a Serbian rapper, singer, songwriter and producer born in Priština on 16 November 1989. His parents, Slađana and Drago Đurić, were university professors. When the war in Kosovo began he went to live with his grandmother, and after several years he settled in Belgrade with his parents. His music mixes R&B, reggae, hip hop, pop and folk, he is known for bringing Auto-Tune into the mainstream in the western Balkans, and his lyrics often deal with marijuana, love and women.

As a teenager he hosted a reggae show on Radio Belgrade, organised R&B and dancehall parties and wrote music for student films. He worked with the collectives Prva postava and Show program, and in 2009 released Sensemilia Mixtape with LMR. In 2010 came One i lova with Cvija, for whom he went on to write several hits, and Kaseta with the Novi Sad group Unija; that April he opened for 50 Cent in Belgrade. His first album, Superstar, produced by Coby, followed in December 2011.

His breakthrough came in July 2014 with the viral hit "Kavasaki", and "Kavali" (2015) went even further. In 2015 he founded the label Balkaton, and the summer singles "Euforija" and "Hotel" (2016) made him one of the most popular artists in the region. He also wrote and produced songs for Dara Bubamara, Ana Nikolić, Ana Stanić, Sandra Afrika, Breskvica and others.

The two-part album Indigo came out in 2017; YouTube named his duet with Ana Nikolić, "Slučajnost", the most viewed video by a Serbian artist in Serbia that year. In 2018 he released Don Reggaeton on his new label Balkaton Gang and played the Belgrade Arena on 4 September, the first Serbian solo rap act to do so.

Later came "Genge" with Relja (2020), "Iz daleka" with Nataša Bekvalac (2021), Geto Sport Mixtape and "Preko sveta" for the Serbian national football team at the 2022 World Cup. In 2023 he played himself in the biographical film 3211, released with an album of the same name. His official videos are gathered here in one playlist.
