About Nina Radojčić

Nina, born Danica Radojčić on 5 August 1989 in Belgrade, is a Serbian pop singer, best known for representing Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with "Čaroban". She started at the Vatroslav Lisinski music school at six, finishing piano and solo singing, and went to a secondary music school and a regular high school at the same time, graduating as the best student of her year.

As a child she won first prize at the Zlatna sirena competition three times, and later prizes for interpretation and composition at FEDEMUS. From 2003 she sang at festivals in Serbia and the region, performed at Coventry Peace Month in England and won the interpretation prize at the Srebrna Jantra festival in Bulgaria. Her first single, "Dokaži da me voliš", came out in 2008, and in February 2010 she founded the band Legal Sex Department and sang on the Belgrade club scene.

The songwriter Kristina Kovač found her through her YouTube videos, made a test recording and chose her at the last minute to sing her song "Čaroban". On 26 February 2011 Nina won Serbia's selection, hosted by Maja Nikolić, with 14,900 SMS votes, well ahead of Aleksandra Kovač. In Düsseldorf she sang in a grey and white dress, with a late-1960s staging of pink spirals, qualified from the first semi-final in eighth place and finished fourteenth in the final with 85 points. She also recorded the song in English as "Magical".

After Eurovision she studied pharmacy at the University of Belgrade and moved to Melbourne, Australia, for a doctorate in immunopharmacology at the University of Melbourne, and she has published scientific papers. Music stayed a part-time love: she released "Colors of My Love" in 2016 and "Nemoćna" in 2020. The videos here are her Eurovision entry and her performance in the final.
