About NeonoeN

NeonoeN is a Montenegrin rock band, founded in Podgorica in early 2012 under the name Neon. It grew out of the partnership between singer Marko Vukčević and guitarist Ilija Pejović, and after several other musicians had come and gone, the line-up settled with bassist Filip Vulanović and drummer Milan Vujović.

Vukčević has described their music as indie rock with elements of blues, hard rock, heavy metal, punk rock and pop. For years the band played the local scene before turning to its own songs: the debut single "Ti i ja" came out in 2018, followed the same year by "Tattoo" and in 2019 by "Mit". In 2018 they were guests on the RTCG music programme Obrati pažnju, covering "Lonely Boy" by The Black Keys, "Za laku noć" by Perper and the Montenegrin song "Još ne sviće rujna zora".

In 2022 they recorded "Daleko odavde" with Ivan Dečak, frontman of the Croatian band Vatra. A year later, for their tenth anniversary, they changed their name to NeonoeN to avoid confusion with other bands at home and abroad, and premiered two new songs at the Zabjelo cultural festival. With "Dok ne udahnem te" and "Dječak sa vjetrom u kosi" (2023) they announced their first album.

In autumn 2024 the band was chosen for Montesong, Montenegro's selection for Eurovision, with "Clickbait". On 27 November 2024 they won the final, second with both the jury and the televote, and earned the right to go to Basel. It then emerged that they had already performed "Clickbait" in June 2023 in Zabjelo, against the rules of both Montesong and Eurovision, and on 4 December 2024 the band withdrew as Montenegro's representative.

That year NeonoeN won Group of the Year at the Montefon Awards, and in 2025 they released their debut album, Huk na zvuk NeonoeN-a, with songs such as "Huk na zvuk", "Merkur i Venera" and "Zažmuri".
