Eliza Stark & The Dappers

Eliza Stark & The Dappers is a rockabilly trio based in Montenegro, which calls itself the country's first and only rockabilly band. Its three members moved to Montenegro from Russia and formed the band there, which is why it has a place among the artists of Montenegro here.

Eliza Stark sings and slaps the upright bass, Dan Fedorov plays guitar and sings backing vocals, and Zheka Shcherbakov is on drums. Eliza had admired rockabilly for years and is a classically trained pianist, while the drummer spent many years playing jazz before he found his way to rock and roll. When Eliza and Dan moved to Montenegro they had to leave their earlier projects behind and decided to start something together; the drummer joined later.

The band names Batmobile, Reverend Horton Heat, Link Wray and The Quakes as its main influences. Because it often plays in restaurants, where it cannot be too loud, Eliza calls the result "soft rockabilly". The debut album, Higher, came out in 2025 with original songs such as "Gonna Get You Higher", "The Lonesome Soul", "Broken Heel" and "Never Let Me Drink One More". The trio appears regularly on Montenegrin national television and has filmed live sessions in Kotor, Budva and on the coast.

2025 took the band around Europe and as far as Australia, with four featured shows at the Cooly Rocks On festival. On stage they mix their own songs with covers, from Gene Vincent's "Race With The Devil" and Peanuts Wilson's "Cast Iron Arm" to The Runaways and Motörhead's "Ace of Spades", which they played live in Zaječar, Serbia. A covers album was announced for 13 April 2026, the original "Till We Die" got an official video in 2026, and the trio is working on a new LP.
