Highway

Highway is a rock band from Podgorica, Montenegro, active since 2015, whose sound runs from alternative rock to soft rock and power pop. It began as a trio: singer Petar Tošić and guitarists Marko Pešić and Luka Vojvodić, who also sang backing vocals.

The band became known through the second series of X Factor Adria in 2015. In the groups category, mentored by Tonči Huljić, they were knocked out at the judges' houses but came back through the public's second chance. In the live shows they sang, among other songs, "Zauvijek moja" by No Name and their own "Lud", and they finished fourth in the final on 21 June 2015. That year they also released their first songs, "Bar na kratko" and "Sam", whose video was filmed in Lipska cave in Montenegro.

On 2 October 2015 the Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG announced that Highway would represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, chosen by a jury that included Slaven Knezović. In December keyboard player Bojan Jovović joined; he had sung at Eurovision 2005 with No Name. "The Real Thing", written by Srđan Sekulović Skansi, Maro Market and Luka Vojvodić, was presented on 4 March 2016, with a video filmed in Belgrade by Julian Wood. In Stockholm the band sang in the first semi-final on 10 May 2016 and placed thirteenth of eighteen with 60 points, missing the final.

Working with producers Darko Juranović D'Knock and Tihomir Preradović, Highway released "Lud" (2016), "Što dalje" (2017) and "Salt Lake City" (2018), then signed to Croatia Records for "Beskrajni dan" (2019), "Svjetlija strana ulice", "Sačuvaj mjesto za nas (Samo svoj)" and "Ponekad u noći" (2020). All of them went onto the album Skica za portret, released by Croatia Records in March 2021.

In 2025 the band returned with "Komšija" and "Vrijeme mi je da se mijenjam", by then with Petar Tošić, Luka Vojvodić, Marko Perić and Jovan Redžić. The playlist here is the album Skica za portret.
