About Goblin Zeppelin

Goblin Zeppelin is a metal band from Podgorica, Montenegro, formed in 2015. It plays a heavy mix of stoner, groove and thrash metal, sings in English and likes horror and occult themes, as titles such as "Necromancer Erotica" and "Graveyard Beast" show.

The band presented its first single, "Necromancer Erotica", in June 2016 and soon after put out the song "Goblin Zeppelin". The line-up then was Nebojša Ćulafić on vocals, Miloš Klikovac and Stefan Stanišić on guitars, Balša Knežević on bass and Jovan Redžić on drums, and the band's logo and cover art were drawn by Branislav Pantić. That summer it played Morinjska gitarijada, the guitar festival in Morinj on the Bay of Kotor, and a later live video shows it playing "Necromancer Erotica" in Morinj.

Goblin Zeppelin signed with the Belgrade label Take It or Leave It Records, which released the debut album Burn the Idol in 2017. The instruments were recorded in Podgorica and the vocals at the Radio Katakomba studio in Budva. The eight songs are "My Black Sin", "Necromancer Erotica", "Evil", "It's All Over", "Goblin Zeppelin", "Voracious Idol", "Graveyard Beast" and "The Machine". Ćulafić said at the time that making metal in Montenegro was hard, with no scene big enough for regular gigs, and that every member had another job beside the band.

Serbian-metal.org congratulated the band on being the first in Montenegro with a stoner release, and the Barikada reviewer liked the album's strong guitar riffs and sharp drums, hearing in it the bands Goblin Zeppelin named as its models, from Black Sabbath and Pantera to Danzig and Type O Negative. Later Ćulafić left the band and Srđan Mišović took over the growled vocals.
