About Mladi korenjaki
Mladi korenjaki are a Slovenian folk-pop ensemble (narodnozabavna glasba) from Gorica pri Slivnici. They are on Muzika-Balkan because the group was founded there in 2006 and is still based there. Abroad they perform as Die jungen Helden, and they sing in Slovenian and German.
They are a quintet with four-part vocals: Blaž Turinek on trumpet, Dejan Bevc on clarinet, Robi Novak on accordion, Tilen Kočevar on baritone or bass guitar and Jaka Napotnik on rhythm guitar. Earlier members were Dejan Frece on trumpet and Primož Tovornik and Matej Jagrič on rhythm guitar.
Two years after they started they won the Marija Reka festival in 2008, and in 2010 they won Polkina zvezda on the TV show Polka in majolka, first with the jury and third with the viewers. In 2013 they sold out their own concert, Večer korenjakov, in Gorica pri Slivnici, with guests including Oto Pestner.
They reached the final of the Slovenska polka in valček festival in 2016 with "Najin poljub" and in 2017 with "Korenjak", and in 2017 they also played the final evening of the Ptuj festival, the oldest festival of this music in Slovenia. Their records include a live album, Sprašujem se, with "Solzica" and "Sprašujem se", and I(ch) find Oberkreiner cool.
The playlist is the ensemble's own channel, with "Sej bil bi nor", "Hladna kot špricer", "Korenjak" and "Najin poljub".
