About Ansambel Nemir
Ansambel Nemir is a Slovenian folk band in the narodnozabavna style, based in Mokronog and active since 2006. The six-piece is known for its long list of festival awards and for the Nemirni koncert, the concert it holds in Mokronog every year.
The band was born in 2006 at Vesel sem Mirnčan, an accordion competition in Mirna, where the accordionist Gregor Možina played. After the event he met the baritonist Tomaž Gracar, and the two arranged their first rehearsals at the home of Gregor's friend, the guitarist Andrej Zupan. Gregor's sister Mojca soon joined them on bass. The line-up changed often in the years that followed: David Brajer took over the bass, then Matej Barbo, the singer Ambrož Hočevar joined, Gracar left, and Matic Uhan and Gregor Gramc came in. Gramc was later replaced by Dejan Potočnik, and in 2017 Alen Ogrinec took his place.
Their first own song, "Prva ljubezen", took them to the festival in Cerkvenjak, and with the second, "Nemirna polka", they won the audience vote at the first festival for the Grand Prize of Dolenjska in Šentjernej. More awards followed: the audience's first prize and the prize for the best instrumental performance at the Dolenjske Toplice festival in 2010, the Bronze Dragon at Vurberk in 2011 and the Golden Dragon there in 2012, when they also won the first Slak plaque for the best performance. In 2012 they were named the best trio at Števerjan and the best ensemble at the Ptuj festival, and in 2013 they won the Koren plaque for the best vocal performance and the audience's first prize at Ptuj.
In 2012 the band also won Na zdravje pesem poletja, the summer song contest of the television show Na zdravje, with "Na sipinah"; viewers chose the winner by phone at the final in Portorož. The same year they recorded their own version of Obvezna smer's "Čez praznike spet bom doma", and "Na lepih prtičkih" was voted the best waltz in Slovenska polka in valček 2013/2014. In 2016 they recorded "Vsaka punca rada ima" with Ansambel Novi spomini, with a music video; Matej Barbo is the brother of Novi spomini's Denis and Rok Barbo.
The first Nemirni koncert took place in the culture hall in Mokronog in November 2011, for the release of the first album, Prva ljubezen. The concerts became a tradition, and in November 2016 the sixth, called 10 nemirnih let, marked ten years of the band in Mokronog's sports hall, together with the fourth album of the same name. The other two albums are Na sipinah (2012) and Čez praznike ... (2013).
Besides the songs above, Ansambel Nemir is best known for "Bi se poročila z mano", "Se ujeti ne pustim", "Škrjanček" and "Tri želje".
