About Mirko Rondović
Mirko Rondović is a Serbian and Montenegrin folk singer, born on 5 June 1945 in Vidre near Pljevlja. His best-known song is "Svi pljevaljski tamburaši".
He started singing as a secondary school student in the Volođa folk ensemble in Pljevlja. When he came to Belgrade to study, he became the vocal soloist of the AKUD Branko Krsmanović ensemble, with which he toured many countries on every continent.
He made his first lasting recordings for Radio Belgrade in 1968. In 1970 he took first place in a competition for vocal soloists of cultural societies and reached the final of Prvi glas Studija 6, a contest for singers from all over the country, and after that he became a permanent soloist of Radio Belgrade. Since then he has recorded more than a hundred songs for the radio's archive, saving many old songs from Stari Ras (today's Sandžak), Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia from being forgotten. He has also composed about thirty songs.
Mirko Rondović is known for his versions of "Grana od bora", "Prođoh kroz goru", "Još ne sviće rujna zora", "Razbolje se zorna Zorka" and "Il' je vedro, il' oblačno". At festivals he sang "Ženilo se mlado momče" at Hit parada in 1983, "Ima nešto u tom rodu" at the Sarajevo folk music festival in 1985, "Milo mi je" at Vogošća in 1986 and "Na Ljubišnji najljepše se ljubi" at the UTEKS international folk festival in Belgrade in 2011.
Alongside music he had a successful working career at the publishing house NIP Politika. He is the father of five children.
