About Kid Pex

Kid Pex, whose real name is Petar Rosandić, is a rapper from Vienna who raps in Croatian and German. He is on the site because he was born in Zagreb, in August 1984, and the German Wikipedia describes him as an Austrian hip-hop musician of Croatian descent. He came to Vienna with his parents at the start of the 1990s, when he was eight, and Vienna has been his home ever since.

He calls his style "Tschuschenrap", after a Viennese slang word for immigrants from the Balkans, and in the hip-hop scene he is known as "Tschuschenspitter vom Dienst". His first album, Gastarbeiterlife, came out in 2009. Early in 2010 he signed with the label Deine Mutter Records, which released Bečko čudo / Wiener Wunder that June. Its first single, "Kako je u Beču" with the Serbian rapper Juice, quickly passed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, and the album had guests from Austria, the United States, Serbia and Croatia, among them StvdB, Rasco of Cali Agents, Target and Tram 11. It entered the Austrian album chart.

His bilingual Vienna anthem "Dođi u Beč / Komm nach Wien" with StvdB was one of the winning songs of the Austrian project Pop, and he was nominated for the Austrian Newcomer Award in 2011. In February 2011 the magazine BUM put him on its cover as face of the month. He also made his acting debut in the film Echte Wiener 2, whose soundtrack carries his song "Plati mi piće" with Bloody MC.

After the label closed he released Perestroika in April 2012, followed by Bečka škola on IDJTunes in 2014 and the EP Kodeks with Freshmaker in 2018. Singles such as "Keep It Jugo Do It Svabo" (2016), "Wien Oida" with Gazal and "Cake" with Steffko and Kathi Power followed. He wrote mostly in his native language at first and has rapped more in German in recent years, in songs such as "Gefangen zwischen Wänden" with Disorder and "Nein Brate". The playlist gathers his recordings, from "Nonstop" to his newest songs.
