About Gjoko Taneski

Gjoko Taneski is a Macedonian pop singer, born on 2 March 1977. He went to secondary school in Kavadarci, and it was there, during his school years, that he formed his first band and began playing on the local scene.

His debut album, Zbogum najmila, came out in 2007, followed by Nikogaš dosta in 2009. On 20 February 2010 he won Skopje Fest, the Macedonian national final, with "Jas ja imam silata", a pop-rock song written and produced by Kristijan Gabrovski. He sang it with the rappers Billy Zver and Pejčin; in the final the song tied on points with Vlatko Ilievski and was declared the winner.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, Gjoko Taneski performed in the first semi-final on 25 May and finished 15th with 37 points, missing the final.

The music video, directed by Branislav Bane Popović, premiered on MRT in March 2010. He has kept releasing singles since, among them "Nemam nitu son" (2018), "Edna ljubov imam" (2019), "Den po den" (2020) and "Ti" (2021), and in 2024 he played a concert at the Antički teatar in Ohrid.
