About Duper

Duper (written DUPER) is a pop band from Skopje, founded in 2018 by Ilčo Necovski and Boris Kakurinov. Necovski sings lead and plays bass guitar, Kakurinov plays guitar and keyboards.

The two met in high school, where both played in the school orchestra of Orce Nikolov, Necovski on violin and Kakurinov on guitar, and they decided to make music together. The drummer Martina Barakoska was part of the first line-up and left in 2019, citing creative differences, which made Duper a duo.

Their debut single, "Ne sum tvoj tip", came out on 20 June 2018 on Avalon Produkcija with a video directed by Tomi Akimovski, and it made the band known: by 2021 the video had passed three million views on YouTube. In 2019 the Golden Ladybug of Popularity named them Music Discovery of the Year, and they played "Ne sum tvoj tip" and "Nie sme 2" at the show. The same year they were nominated for Best Alternative Group and Best Video at the MAC awards in Belgrade, and the awards of Story magazine named them Best Band.

Since 2019 Duper have worked independently. The singles "Patnik", "Pak i pak" and "Edinstven način" followed, and on 20 May 2020 "Smeneta" with Matej Folc. Their debut album, Hiper, came out in July 2021 with "Telo za na TV", "Nie sme 2", "Probaj da mi bideš" and "Rajot na zemjata", recorded, mixed and mastered by Angel Ćosev. In September 2021 they released "Ne mi davaš son" with Thea Trajkovska.

Newer songs on the band's channel include "So tebe ne gledam saat (bejbe)", "Nekažano", "Kaži mi vo lice", "Na pola pat" and "Pretera" with Young Dadi.
