About DNK
DNK was a Macedonian pop and hip-hop duo from Skopje, formed in 2001 by Andrej Gjorgjieski, known as Andrej DNK, and Vladimir Blažev, known as Pančo. Both came with musical experience: Andrej had been in the group TNT and studied at the music academy in Skopje, while Pančo had played with OK Bend. Their first single, "Devojka za vezden", came out the same year with a video.
The EP Pazi dete followed in April 2003, mixing pop, hip-hop and R&B. After a two-year break the duo returned in 2006. Pančo became a resident DJ in well-known clubs, and Andrej worked as a music editor and produced a TV talent show. As long-time friends of the producer Vrčak, they were among the founders of the label Produkcija Republika, which released their debut album Kažano e se in 2010. Its 18 songs included "Polna mesečina", "Pazi se od mene", "Navlečen na tebe" and "Taa toa go krie", and "Otrovna" with Robert Bilbilov.
In September 2011 DNK marked ten years with their first big concert at Metropolis Arena in Skopje. The ballad "Avion" (2012) announced the second album, Srce (2013), which featured Elena Risteska, and a year earlier they had played an acoustic concert with a chamber orchestra in the Universal Hall. The third album, Ušte eden den (2016), brought "Samo taa znae kako", "Najmila", "Ona e od Šutka" and "Frazi ljubovni" with Tamara Todevska, and in May 2017 they celebrated 15 years at Metropolis Arena.
A best-of collection came out in 2018, followed by a stream of singles. On 3 December 2022 DNK played their 20th-anniversary concert at the Boris Trajkovski Arena in Skopje and released the album Dvaeset the next day, with "Ako utre me nema" featuring the Džambo Aguševi Orchestra. Their 2024 single "Živote brate" brought in Naum Petreski and the same orchestra, and "Fala" in 2025 was their last.
On 16 March 2025 DNK were performing at a nightclub in Kočani when a fire broke out. Andrej Gjorgjieski died that night, together with several members of the team and band. Vladimir Blažev was badly burned and died in Skopje on 14 October 2025, which ended the story of one of the most popular Macedonian duos of the past two decades.
