Vodolija

Vodolija (Aquarius) is a Macedonian rock band from Skopje. Formed in 1989, the band made it official in 1991 with its first appearance at Pop-Rock Fest 1991 and its first single, recorded in the M2 studio of Macedonian Radio Television. All of their songs are written and composed by the frontman and guitarist Risto Apostolov.

In the nineties Vodolija released two albums on cassette, Ljubov ili strasti in 1996 and Hazard in 1997, both recorded in the studio of Vladimir Petrovski-Karter of the Badmingtons. The band was active until 1998 and came back in 2005, followed by the singles "Izmislen od bajki" (2006), "Ti ne si" (2007) and "Sekjavanja" (2008).

In 2008 and 2009 Risto Apostolov worked with Sonia Sauruk from New Jersey on "Best of your love" and "Summertime", and "Summertime" went on the band's third album, Se što e sveto, recorded in Apostolov's own studio and released on CD in 2009/2010. Between 2009 and 2011 Vodolija entered Skopje Fest, the Macedonian national selection for Eurovision, three years running: with "Mojot TV" in 2009, "Solza" in 2010, when they made it through the semi-final to the final, and "Ne vrakjaj se" in 2011.

In June 2010 the band played an acoustic concert at Macedonian Radio Television, built on the songs of the third album, which was broadcast that October on the first channel of MTV. In November 2011 "Ti ne si" won the prize for best production, and in 2012 Vodolija represented Macedonia with "Mojot TV" at INFE Vision, an internet festival run by international Eurovision fans.

On 23 and 24 August 2013 they played Ohrid Fest with "Radost i bol", on both the pop night and the international night. In 2015 their "Se što mi treba" was used in the soundtrack of the film Where Is the Money, in which Apostolov also made a guest appearance. That year they released "Kako od bajki" and "Odam napred".

The singles kept coming: "Koga i kako" (2016), "Ljubovna pesna" (2017), "Samo eden" (2019), "Polna so magija" (2020), "Strast" (2022), "Povedi me" (2023) and "Nebesen svod" (2024). In 2025 the band gathered them in the digital release Kolekcija na singlovi.
