About Antonija Šola
Antonija Šola is a Croatian singer-songwriter, lyricist and actress, born in Zagreb on 5 June 1979. She is on Muzika-Balkan as a Zagreb-born artist, and Zagreb is where she has made her home: in a 2015 interview with tportal she said she lives in Zagreb. She holds a master's degree in sociology and Croatian culture from the Croatian Studies in Zagreb, studied singing with opera singer Mario Gjuranec, and has written and composed pop songs since 1999.
Television made her face known first: she played the lead in RTL's soap opera Zabranjena ljubav for four seasons and 805 episodes. Her first public performance as a singer was at Dora 2003 with "Dođi najbrže", and she returned to the Croatian Eurovision selection in 2007 and 2008. With "Gdje je srce tu je dom" in 2008 she won the biggest share of the public vote but finished second, as the jury sent Kraljevi Ulice and 75 Cents to Belgrade. At the Croatian Radio Festival she was named best debutant in 2005.
She wrote the words of "Volim osmijeh tvoj", her duet with Toše Proeski, which sold a platinum edition within a month as part of a children's tooth-care campaign. Her debut album Anđele (2007) went platinum and gold, and the second, Gdje je srce tu je dom, gold. In 2008 she won the Grand Prix of the Ohrid festival with "Božji pat", a Macedonian version of "Nebu pod oblak", and "Milijun poljubaca" with the tamburica band Gazde was named the most played song of 2009 at Zlatne žice Slavonije.
As a songwriter she has written for Zdravko Čolić, Oliver Dragojević, Vinko Coce, Tony Cetinski, Nina Badrić, Crvena jabuka, Željko Bebek, Lepa Brena and Maja Šuput, among many others.
Her own records continued with the children's album Zemlja sreće (2009) and Nezgodna (2013), which went platinum and gold and collected festival hits such as "Lagat ću", winner of the Glorija award at the CMC festival in Vodice in 2012. "Tvoja Baraba" with the band Barabe and "Samo u parfemu" followed, and after joining Croatia Records in 2015 she toured America with Mladen Grdović. Antonija Šola later released the Christmas album Sretan Božić ljubavi (2018) and "Oči boje oceana" (2019). The playlist gathers her official videos.
