About Aleksa Jelić

Aleksa Jelić is a Serbian pop and dance-pop singer, born on 19 November 1976 in Belgrade. He is the son of the rock musician Dragi Jelić, the founder of YU Grupa, but he made his own name far from his father's rock: first as a dancer, then as a pop singer.

At seventeen he became the youngest permanent ballet dancer of the Terazije Theatre in Belgrade. Since 1999 he has lived between Belgrade and Barcelona, where he also works in the hospitality industry.

His singing career began in 2007, when he competed at Beovizija, the Serbian Eurovision selection, with "Beli grad" and finished seventh. A year later he returned with "Beli jablan", sung together with Ana Štajdohar, and was runner-up. His debut album, U tami disko kluba, came out on PGP-RTS in 2008, followed by Javna tajna in November 2010. In 2012 he released the single "Idemo u grad", and in 2015 he tried for Eurovision again with "Vodi me", finishing third in the selection Odbrojavanje za Beč.

Television brought him a wider audience. In 2013 he finished third in the first season of Tvoje lice zvuči poznato, the Serbian version of Your Face Sounds Familiar, and in 2014 he was announced as a presenter of Ples sa zvezdama, the Serbian Dancing with the Stars. In 2019 he was back in Tvoje lice zvuči poznato for the all-star fifth season, paired with Ana Kokić, the winner of the first season, and they finished third.

His third album, Metamorfoza, came out in June 2019. His channel collects his newer songs and videos, from "Ko te ljubi sad" and "Zvezde lete" to "Vreme promena", together with older favourites such as "Beli jablan" and "Još jednom".
