Shaolin Gang

Shaolin Gang is a hip-hop duo from Pristina, made up of DJ Blunt and the rapper Real 1. For years the two released their records as Blunt & Real; Shaolin Gang is the name under which they put out their more recent trap and rap songs.

DJ Blunt, whose real name is Edon Dedi, was born in Pristina on 1 October 1980. His family moved to Austria a few years later, and there he grew up, studied drums and then business, and played drums in several rock bands before he started working as a DJ in 1999. In 2000 he and Real 1 became part of NR, the group with BimBimma and Ergen in which Blunt was DJ and producer. NR's album Egjeli appeared in 2003, and the group played "Afrim Roboti" at Show Fest that year.

After NR split up, Blunt and Real carried on as a duo. DJ Blunt also released records of his own, among them The Big Picture, the self-titled DJ Blunt and Classic G, Real 1 made the album N'beat po, and together they released Blunt për President in 2013. Their singles of those years include "Edhe pak" with Dhurata Dora and Lumi B, a remix of "Nëse m'don ti" with Ledri Vula, "Xhinset", "Rambo", "Vera" and "Suzi", and they took part in Video Festi Muzikor and Zhurma Show.

In a 2017 interview with KosovaPress the two said they make music the way they live: their songs and videos come from ordinary life rather than from talk of millions that do not exist. Blunt named "Rambo" and "Suzi" as his favourites; in the "Suzi" video the duo do not appear at all. By then they had six albums together and were working on a seventh.

As Shaolin Gang they have released the album series Tululu, with songs such as "Love & Trust", "Piccolo" and "Superhero", "Ushqim Kinez", and the Tululu 3 songs "Rick & Morty", "Money Man", "WTF" and "Gen Z". In 2019 they also appeared on "Moti" by Ghetto Geasy and Onat.
