About 403

403 is a rock band from Kosovo and one of the bands that built the Kosovo rock scene of the 1980s, alongside Gjurmët and Minatori. Writing in 2003, the journalist Blerim Shala called 403 the most promising Kosovo rock band of its time, one that for various reasons never got as far as it deserved. Like the other bands of that decade it had few records and was heard mostly through recordings for Radio Television of Pristina.

The band's own archive still holds songs recorded in 1982, such as "A do të kthehet" and "Boemi". Later the members scattered to different countries and professions, and it took years before 403 got back together.

When they did, they recorded a full album: fifteen songs released on CD at the end of 2002, produced by Hektor Gjurgjiali. Many of them were the songs that had made 403 important in the 1980s, now in new arrangements, and among the new ones Shala singled out "Engjujt nuk jetojnë në tokë" and "Qyteti im".

403 has kept playing live. Its own recordings include a concert at the ODA theatre in 2007; on 6 September 2019 the band played the Rock United festival in the Gërmia amphitheatre, a concert later broadcast in full on KTV, and in July 2024 it appeared at the Prizren Rock & Blues Festival, where Gjurgjiali greeted the city where he was born. The band's best-known songs include "Akoma po të pres", "As vet s'e di", "Indexi" and "Përralla e fundit".
