About Numen
Numen is the stage name of Besmir Rekaj, a Kosovar pop singer born on 4 September 1995 in the village of Nerodime, near Ferizaj. He chose the name because it is rare and has an artistic meaning. Unusually for a pop singer, he rarely shows himself in his videos, and listeners know him above all by his voice.
He was drawn to music from an early age and soon began making songs with his brother, who works as the producer Anso. Together they founded the studio Reverse, which works with established and new artists.
His career took off in May 2019 with "Kthema kohën", a new version made with the producer Cricket, which according to Albanian Wikipedia reached 36 million views on YouTube in a short time. Within a year he had four songs out, and a remake of "Më fal", again with Cricket, followed. Cricket and Numen went on to make the joint project Nostalgji, with songs such as "Ëndrrat", "Dashuria", "Faleminderit" and "Pa fat", and a version of "Loti s'është tharë".
On his own he released "I ke harru", "Leila", "Ti më le", "Loti" and, in 2021, "Malena", produced by Anso. One of his songs went straight to number one on The Top List, and he also sang "S'ka tjetër" with the Pristina rapper Elinel.
