About The Freelancers

The Freelancers are an alternative and electronic rock band from Kosovo. Wikipedia counts them among the new wave of alternative bands that appeared in Kosovo after 2004, next to Gillespie, Votra and The Bloody Foreigners, and notes that most of these groups made their debut in 2009.

Their album N'kuti was recorded between August 2009 and September 2011 at Homebasesound, Studio C and Dukat Mongi, and was released on 11 January 2012 on Dit' e Nat', the label of the Pristina café and bookshop of the same name. It runs for 54 minutes. Among its producers were Visar Kuçi, Pëllumb Ballata, Armend Xhaferi, Dritëro Nikqi of Por-no and Genc Salihu of Cute Babulja.

The songs mix Albanian and English titles, from "Natën e mirë", "Retë", "Pse?", "Nata", "Bora" and "Andrra" to "Tree of Life", "Let the Dead Grow", "Headlights" and "Father". On their own channel the band also shared two demos, "KKKMF" and "Dita e njejtë", set to scenes from Michelangelo Antonioni's films L'eclisse and Zabriskie Point.
