NR

NR is a hip-hop crew from Pristina, started by two childhood friends, Ergen Berisha and Burim Kursani, better known as Bim Bimma, together with other friends. Kosovo 2.0 describes it as one of the most underground of the Albanian-language rap crews.

Their first track, "Shumë vrasje", was recorded in 1998. After the war NR played a concert in front of the National Theatre in Pristina on 1 May 2000 and the Crossing Bridge festival in Peja in 2001, and their song "Afrim Roboti" was voted the audience favourite at Show Fest. From their first songs they also traded disses with other crews, such as Ritmi i Rrugës and Hija e Jetës.

In 2003 NR released the album Egjeli, made with DJ Blunt and Real 1, who later worked together as Shaolin Gang. Many hold it up as a revolution in Albanian hip-hop. Its thirteen tracks include "Afrim Roboti", "Balerina", "1 001 111", "Romeo e Xhulieta", "Axha Bastard" and the title song "E Gjeli".

The video "Filma turqisht" (2007), made by Puntor't Social, was picked by Norient as one of five videos of Kosovo's post-war independent scene: aliens catch a signal from Kosovo, and the clip turns into a parody of commercial music video clichés. Ergen and Bim Bimma have kept working together since, on songs such as "038" and "Skutaqja".
