Dj Blunt

Dj Blunt, whose real name is Edon Dedi, is a hip-hop DJ, producer and rapper from Kosovo. Over the years he has worked with a long list of Albanian rap groups and singers, and for many years he has paired up with the rapper Real 1, recording as Blunt & Real.

He appears on "Egjeli", the 2003 release of the Kosovo rap group NR on the Init label, together with Real 1, Bimbimma and ErgeNR. His first album of his own, The Big Picture, followed on Init in 2005, with guests such as Real 1, Kaos, Bimbimma, Miggi and Amok on songs like "O ka qelet", "50/50", "Hey" and "Merre paren". A second album, simply called Dj Blunt, came out on Init in 2008, with "Kur hina na", "Klasik" with Real 1 and MC Kresha, and "Aj aj", later remixed with Vesa Luma. In 2011 Gramafon released Classic G.

With Real 1 he went on to albums such as Vera and Blunt për President, and in 2017 the two told Telegrafi that they had six albums together, with a seventh on the way. Their videos include "Vera", "Shota", "Gabimi", "Xhinset", "Rambo" and "Edhe pak" with Dhurata Dora and Lumi B, and they made a remix of "Nëse m'don ti" with Ledri Vula.

In that interview the pair said they take their inspiration from real, everyday life: the way they live is the way they make the music, the lyrics and the video. Dj Blunt named "Rambo" his favourite, for its video, and "Suzi", a video in which the duo do not appear at all: it tells of a young man who earns twenty euros cutting a friend's hair, goes out drinking with him and in the end gets married, which he called a story about how alike everyone is. They also said that they make their music first of all for the market in Kosovo.

Asked in another interview about the rough language of rap, Dj Blunt said that hip-hop is street music, that it comes from the street, and that its language is the language of the street. He is a member of Shaolin Gang, whose albums Tululu, Tululu 2 and Tululu 3 are released on the Blunt & Real channel.
