About Pero Defformero
Pero Defformero is a band from Novi Sad, known for its own blend of turbo-folk and progressive metal. Guitarist Saša Friš first thought of combining hard rock and heavy metal with turbo-folk in the early 1990s, when he wrote "Veče na plaži", later recorded as "Ostavljen sam ja". Dragan "Sneki" Jovanić recorded and produced it in his studio, with Željko Jojkić "Sin" on vocals. The band took its name from a character in the comic Alan Ford.
With bassist Tibor Lakatoš and drummer Srđan Milovanović, the band recorded its debut at the Pro Sound studio in Novi Sad in the summer of 1994. Pero Defformero came out in the autumn of 1995 on Music YUser, with a video for "Srca tvoga plam". Jojkić and Lakatoš then left, and singer Goran Biševac "Biške" and bassist Miroslav Mijatović joined. A second album, Pero Defformero II, was recorded in 1997 but never officially released, and the band went on a long break.
In 2003 fans persuaded the members to play again. Mijatović later left for the Novi Sad band Ritam Nereda and was replaced by Nenad Kovačević "Cika", and the band covered "Jaroslava" on a tribute album to Đorđe Balašević. In January 2008 they recorded their long-awaited second album at the Piknik studio; Undergrand came out on Multimedia Records in January 2009, with a video for "Došli smo do kraja puta".
The third album, Jer to liči na taj način?, followed in 2014, and the band's channel has carried a steady run of new videos since, among them "Gotičarka", "Hipster", "Lola" and a set of videos released in 2023.
