About Zbogom Brus Li
Zbogom Brus Li (Goodbye Bruce Lee) is a punk rock band from Novi Sad, formed in 1992. Influenced by the Misfits, Ramones, Toy Dolls, Cock Sparrer, the Dickies and T. Rex, they blend punk with the folk music of Vojvodina into a style they call "tamburaški punk". After early line-up changes the band settled on Slavko Matić (Shakin' Slavisha) on vocals, Aleksandar Jovanović (Jovandeka Li Metalika) on bass, Branislav Smuk (Smuk Fu) on guitar and Boban Dejanović (Boban Li) on drums. They played in costumes and first performed together with the theatre group Alternativna scena Blek Stena.
A self-released cassette EP came out in 1994, and the debut album Penk Punk Pink Pank Ponk in 1995, full of humorous songs quoting Zvonko Bogdan and Šaban Šaulić and sampling films such as Who's That Singing Over There. That year they also took part in Želimir Žilnik's film Marble Ass. Zlobro followed in 1997 and Hogli-Vogli Rok in 1999, children's songs played as punk, made with the Zmaj Children Games festival. In 2000 the band broke up.
They reunited in 2005 and in 2007 covered Đorđe Balašević's "1987." as "Jadna i bedna 2007." for a tribute album. In 2008 came Ratatatariteti!, songs from the 1990s never released before, and Ukleti salaš on PGP RTS, with ten new and eight old songs. At Beovizija 2009 they sang "Ha ha ha" in the semi-final.
For their twentieth anniversary in 2012 they released the mini album Kokainka, with guests such as Nikola Pejaković Kolja and Bobo Knežević, and Pero Defformero covered "Ukleti salaš" in their honour. The live album Noć živih hitova, recorded at SKCNS Fabrika in November 2012, came out in 2013, and in 2015 a monograph about the band appeared together with the single "Pevaju svi".
