Love Hunters

Love Hunters is a hard rock band from Novi Sad, formed in 1987 by the singer Milan Mumin and the guitarist Aleksandar Medan. The first line-up also had Lazar Malešević on bass and Siniša Lučić on drums; after several changes the band settled with Vladimir Jovanov (Menander Protector) on bass, Mario Kalin on guitar and Robert Radić, formerly of Obojeni program and La Strada, on drums.

They started out playing punk blues with English lyrics on independent labels, so the mainstream media ignored them at first. The cassette There's No Centuries came out in 1988, Everclassic and Oh, Evolution on Music Yuser in the mid-1990s, and by then they were a cult band in Novi Sad. In 1996 they released Donau and the demo collection Total Rickverzzo, opened the comeback concert of Partibrejkers at Tašmajdan Stadium and, as Live Hunters, released the live album Out of Tune. Azimuth, recorded in the Netherlands, followed in 1997, and Unplugged, from Novi Sad's Studio M, in 1999.

Harley Krishna (2000) brought brass and acoustic strings, with Saša Lokner of Bajaga i Instruktori on keyboards and a cover of The Doors' "Touch Me", and One Hunt (2002, City Records) was an album of covers from ABBA to Tom Waits, with videos Mumin directed in France and Ireland. After a pause while Mumin lived in New York and the live album Live in Bistro, the band broke up in 2004.

The original line-up reunited in July 2011; the DVD Live in Novi Sad 2011 followed, and the rock musical film Love Hunter, based on Mumin's life in the United States and starring him, was praised by The New York Times. The singles "Black & Blue" (2014) and "Suck Disease" announced the comeback album Suck Disease, released in December 2015, and in 2023 Mascom Records issued the LP Mother Mono Father Demo.
