About Peki
Peki is a Croatian rapper and songwriter from Drniš, in the Dalmatian hinterland, whose real name is Josip Pekas. He was born in 2003 and went to the music school and the Ivan Meštrović secondary school in Drniš. In 2021 he enrolled at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb, coming first in the entrance exam. Novi list calls him "the prince of Zagora".
He comes from a musical family: his father played in a local band, and Peki plays saxophone and drums. He also trained basketball from the age of five, first with KK DOŠK in Drniš and then with KK Split. He started making music at the end of secondary school, in 2020, and D33 came out in 2023.
His debut album Fortuna came out in 2024 with twelve songs, made with the help of his brother Luka Pekas and with guests Hiljson Mandela, Vojko V, Bore Balboa, Grše and Baks. It passed 200,000 Spotify streams in its first week. Its biggest hits are "Ganga i rera" with Vojko V, "Mangio Pasta" with Grše, the hit of that summer, "Bajadeira" and "Panama" with Bore Balboa, who had spotted his talent early.
He presented the album with two sold-out nights at Tvornica kulture in Zagreb, and in March 2025 played his first solo concert in Rijeka. In February 2025 he released the EP Fortuna Deluxe with four more songs, among them "Tika Taka" with Miach. The playlist is the album Fortuna.
