About Mimi Mercedez

Mimi Mercedez, born Milena Janković on 23 November 1992 in Belgrade, is a Serbian rapper, singer and songwriter, regarded as a pioneer and one of the most prominent female rappers in Serbia and the former Yugoslavia. She grew up in Borča and Konjarnik, finished the Third Belgrade Gymnasium and got into rap in her late teens. Much of her music was made with the producer Zartical.

Her first song, "Napucane svinjice", came out in 2011 and later appeared on her self-released mixtape Jedino što znam (2013). She was also featured on "Mala ima kasko" on the 2012 album of rapper Juice. In February 2015 she released the EP Napaljene uličarke, and in August her first album, Našminkam se i pravim haos, with "Kleopatra", her first mainstream hit. The same year she sang "Gadure" with Milan Stanković and Mile Kitić, and in 2016 "Ne možeš da sediš sa nama" with Kaya became another hit.

Two albums, Stara Mimi and Kuma, followed in 2018. In February 2019 she released two duets with Stoja, "Svet se vrti oko nas" and "Žena sa Balkana", and in October the album Mržnja, announced by the single "Kučke". Besides Mimi Mercedez she has used alter egos such as Guda iz Huda, Sestra Drugarica and Kabasti Koblenc, and her lyrics play with 1990s Serbia, social class and sex-positivity through metaphors and word play. She has also written songs for Nikolija, Milica Pavlović and Jelena Karleuša.

In July 2022 she played EXIT for the first time, and on 31 December she performed at the ceremony closing Novi Sad's year as European Capital of Culture. In January 2023 she co-hosted the Music Awards Ceremony at the Štark Arena with Voyage. Her fifth album, Frka u svemiru, came out in February 2023 with "Dajivé komì", "Ratatata", "Tik Tak" and "Simp"; "Dajivé komì" was a finalist for the Milan Mladenović Award. In 2024 "Tokyo Drift" with Croatian rapper Grše reached number two on Billboard's Croatia Songs chart.

In February 2025 Mimi Mercedez finished fifth in Pesma za Evroviziju '25 with "Turbo žurka". The playlist gathers her official videos.
