MC Yankoo

MC Yankoo is the stage name of Aleksandar Janković, a rapper and singer born on 27 August 1981 in Vienna, Austria. English Wikipedia calls him an Austrian-born Serbian rapper and Serbian Wikipedia a Serbian musician from Austria, which is why he is on Muzika-Balkan: he was born in Austria but made his name in Serbian-language Balkan pop and hip-hop. The sources do not say where he lives today.

His first record contract, at seventeen, came to nothing, and he then performed on the Balkan scene under the name Salex. In 2004 he toured Italy, Austria and Germany with his band LDT. In 2008 he began recording with MC Stojan, and in 2009 he founded his own music company, Yankoo Music.

The hits came from 2010: "Tvoje tange", then in 2011 "Ne zovi me" with DJ Mlađa, which reached number 10 on the iTunes dance chart, "Kakva guza" with MC Stojan and "Ja volim Balkan" with Dado Polumenta, DJ Mlađa and MC Stojan. In 2012 "Shake 3x", recorded with Rene Rodrigezz and DJ Antoine, reached number 31 on the Austrian Ö3 Top 40 and 63 in Germany, and "Loca" with DJ Mlađa was a summer hit. Later Austrian chart entries include "Around the World" at number 15, "We Let It Burn" and "I'm Coming for Your Soul".

His biggest song is "Moje zlato" (2014), a duet with Milica Todorović that English Wikipedia describes as the first music video in Serbia to reach a hundred million views on YouTube. The two followed it with "Ljubi me budalo" in 2017. Over the years he has also worked with Olja Karleuša, Darko Lazić, Dara Bubamara, Muharem Redžepi and Luna Đogani, and he releases a single or more nearly every year, from "Moj grad" and "Neka gori sve" to "Balkan san" and "Made in Balkan".

The playlist gathers his own videos from his official channel, from the early Balkan club hits to "Moje zlato".
