Marko Louis

Marko Stojanović Louis, known as Marko Louis, is a Serbian singer and songwriter who calls his music Balkan soul: soul and hip-hop rhythms with African influences and Balkan, Bulgarian, Indian and Iranian ornaments. He was born on 25 January 1985 in Munich, then West Germany, into a family of Serbian musicians. His father is the singer Ljubiša Stojanović Louis, which is why he is listed here among Serbian artists.

He started playing percussion and drums at about five and went to the music school of the Munich Conservatory, and from the age of 13 he also played basketball for about eight years, including for s.Oliver Würzburg. In 2007 he moved from Germany to Belgrade to study sound design at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, paying for his studies by singing and playing in cafés. With his sister Maja Novaković he had the band Marakuja, which made two albums.

His solo albums are Shine On Me (2015), Beskraj (2017), the live album Uživo (2018), Euridika (2018), Sloboda (2021), the children's mini-album Ja se zovem slon (2022) and Beskraj 2 (2023). The single "Ćutaću" (2021), whose video stars Milena Radulović, drew wide attention, and in 2022 he toured as Freedom 2022.

He likes to work with others: "Pašana", "Sanjao sam" and "Pandora" with Božo Vreće, "Kraj" with Lena Kovačević, "Bonita" with Aimilia Varanaki and "Ne radujemo se" with Dino Merlin. Later songs on his channel include "Bulbule" with Senidah, "Nestaje dah" with Who See, "Nemam sluh" with Helem Nejse and "Zahmet".

Marko Louis also sings in Serbian versions of animated films, as the soloist of "Leta 1000" in Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (2015) and as Prince Dee in Trolls World Tour (2020). His songs "Euridika", "Dude" and "Bonita" and his cover of "Rockabye" were nominated at the Music Awards Ceremony.
